A lifelong interest in drawing and painting has evolved into a passionate pursuit. After a mid-life career change, Jackie decided to enrich her skills and broaden her artistic horizons through formal studies in drawing, watercolour and botanical art at the Springbank Visual Art Centre (now Visual Arts Mississauga) and the Spillane Studio of Fine Arts, Mississauga, ON
“Each painting is a creative journey which at times leads me beyond my comfort zone yet always offers an enriching experience that guides me inevitably to its intended destination.”
This belief shapes Jackie’s practice: every piece teaches her something new, and every challenge becomes part of the story within the final image.

Working primarily in coloured pencil, Jackie values the precision and colour depth the medium offers for capturing the intricate details of her subjects. Her versatility and creativity are highlighted through her exploration of other media like graphite, pen & ink, silverpoint, watercolour and her willingness to mix media to achieve the desired effect.

Jackie’s deep connection with nature has guided her creative journey, vividly expressed in her botanical, floral and landscape artworks. She chooses her subjects by what speaks to her… their simplicity, contours, flow, as well as their imagery and architectural shapes. Whether she is creating coloured pencil artwork or watercolour art, her inspiration always comes from the natural world.
Jackie is a member of the Lakeshore Art Trail (Mississauga), Colored Pencil Society of America, Coloured Pencil Artists of Canada, Neilson Park Creative Centre, and the Etobicoke Art Group. She is a past president of the former Botanical Artists of Canada. Jackie exhibits her artwork throughout the GTHA and southwestern Ontario. Her works have found homes in private collections in both Canada and the United States.
